What areas do you serve?

I primarily service areas in Houston: Rice Village, Montrose/Midtown, Downtown, Museum District, Memorial/Washington Ave, River Oaks, and Heights.

What can I expect at the complimentary Meet and Greet?

I’ll meet you and your cat(s) at your home to go over all the important details - cat care routine, meds, alarm, visit schedule, keys, and more. This meet & greet ensures personalized, stress-free cat sitting. 

Is Claire and Cats Insured?

Yes, Claire and Cats is insured through Pet Sitters Associates.

What if something happens to my cat sitter while I am away? Will I have a back up?

Of course. My top priority as a cat sitter in Houston is providing anxiety-free, reliable cat care in your home. If I’m ever unavailable, you’ll be informed right away. You’ll also have a chance to meet a trusted backup cat sitter in advance, so you’ll never have a stranger entering your home. Your cat's comfort, safety, and routine are always respected. 

What is your cancellation policy?

Please give me at least 24h notice if you have to cancel. I will decline to provide service for clients with multiple same day last minute cancellations. 

How do holiday rates work?

Holiday rates are $15 per visit. Visits scheduled within ±3 days of a holiday will include a $10/day surcharge. Holidays include: New Year's Eve/Day, Valentine's Day, Presidents Day, Easter, Easter Monday, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day 

Will I receive updates?

Absolutely. You will receive photos and videos after each visit. I usually send updates through text, but if you prefer WhatsApp, I can do that as well.

How do you take care of emergencies?

In the event of your cat requires for immediate medical condition, I will take them to vet, under the permission of the owner. I am certified with Pet CPR and Pet First Aid.

What happens if I am away and the weather is bad?

During severe weather in Houston, like flooding, hail, or storms, I’ll do everything possible to reach your cat. If roads are unsafe or closed, I’ll contact your emergency backup to ensure your pet still receives care. Your cat’s safety and well-being always come first. 

How is the payment and invoice handled?

After your last visit, I will send you an invoice and you can pay through Zelle, Apple Pay, PayPal or Venmo in a timely manner. I do not accept cash, checks or other forms of payment. Late payments will incur additional charges. 

What happens if I come home early or later than the scheduled visits?

Just let me know ahead of time, and we will work it out to make sure everything is good.

Do you offer overnight visits?

Unfortunately I do not offer overnight visits. However I do offer longer visits, so feel free to text me about what you are looking for, and we can go from there.
